We are seeking Junior Buyers to join our Merchandise Team based in our Store Support Office in Williams Landing in West Melbourne. 

What will you do?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join our organisation and gain knowledge from the ground up within our Merchandise function.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to build assortment plans to drive forecast accuracy and stock productivity.

Other key responsibilities may include:

  • Independently manage own portfolio of the range with support from the Buyer to:
    • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to establish the appropriate balance of fashion, basics and quality to drive volume growth within agreed option plan
    • Maximise direct and global sourcing opportunities
    • Work collaboratively with the Designer on product development and range management
    • Partner with Planner to develop tactics in response to current trading results including managing an accurate reforecast process
  • Delivery of critical path milestones to meet launch dates
  • Work collaboratively with the Design and Technical Design teams to drive quality throughout the range

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Design or Retail with some exposure to buying in a retail environment.  Demonstrated understanding of product development and the manufacturing process is essential as is previous experience in implementing a merchandise strategy and working with a supplier and sourcing strategy, along with ability to interpret commercial trends and financial, numerical and analytical skills.
